Scheduling an Event
This section will help guide you through the process of coordinating a North Shore Riverfront Park event. Please reference the following steps as you plan:
Check the
Pirates,
Steelers and
University of Pittsburgh game schedules to rule out potential conflicts.
Contact the SEA at 412-393-0200 and if you are considering use of City property or a street closure as part of your event, the
Mayor's Office of Special Events to request an event date.
Complete an
SEA North Shore Riverfront Park Special Event Application and, if applicable, the
City of Pittsburgh's Special Event Permit Application.
Please see the
Rules and Regulations for planning your event.
Your date will be reserved upon receipt of your executed license agreement and payment of the license fee and security deposit. The SEA cannot accept your application more than 180 days prior to your event date. Occasionally, a scheduled event must be re-scheduled due to major city events or events at Acrisure Stadium or PNC Park.
License Agreement
Once the special event applications have been completed, approvals from the City/stakeholders have been secured and all required information in received, the SEA will issue a license agreement to be signed by the event organizer.
License Fee
The SEA charges a license fee for use of any area of the North Shore Riverfront Park. The fee is $150 per hour Monday through Thursday and $200 per hour for Friday through Sunday and holidays for the event (with a minimum of 4 hours per event). An additional set-up and breakdown fee will apply. License fees for use of parking lots will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Proceeds from license fees support North Shore Riverfront Park maintenance.
Security Deposit
A security deposit is due prior to each event. For events expecting less than 500 people, the deposit is $500. For events expecting between 500 and 1,000 people, the deposit is $1,000. For events over 1,000 people, the deposit is $1,500. An additional deposit of $500 will apply for use of the Great Lawn. Security deposits are fully refundable if the event organizer meets the requirements of the license agreement.
